Do I need to book restaurants and activities?

We strongly recommend that you book as far ahead as possible to avoid any disappointment – restaurants get very booked up quickly, especially in the summer months and peak season. We’ve put together some recommendations and suggestions for planning your trip, which you will find in the information book in your cabin, but you can also download here:

How do I order one of your local hampers?

We offer locally sourced hampers which can be pre-ordered for your stay. The various hamper options are shown here. These can be added to your booking during the booking process online, and your hamper will be in your cabin ready for you when you arrive. If you’d like your hamper for a specific day during your stay then please contact us to let us know. Our famous bread and scones are baked fresh by myself (Emma) on the day of your arrival, unless requested otherwise.

If you already have an existing booking, but would like to add a hamper, please just get in touch and we can arrange that for you no problem.

Can I walk to the beach from the site?

Whilst it is possible to walk to the beach from the site, it is 3.7 miles and does involved using the road for some of the route, which has no footpath and can be steep in places so isn’t for the faint hearted! As an alternative we recommend either driving to the beaches, or for a lovely walk to Seaton beach you can drive a short distance down the road to Hessenford and take a beautiful 2.3 mile walk through the woods and along the river to the beach from there.

Is there a shop within walking distance?

Tredinnick Farm Shop is just 0.6 miles from Lydcott Glamping and stocks everything you might need for your stay, as well as having a lovely cafe serving fabulous home cooked food.

Is there a pub within walking distance?

The Copley Arms in Hessenford is our nearest pub, just 1.4 miles walk. Please bear in mind that the most direct route is via the steep road down to Hessenford with no footpath. You can alternatively walk to the pub via a bridle path down through the woods from the top of Widegates village. What goes down must go up however- so returning from the pub will still involve the steep walk up the road, or the steep walk back up through the woods.
