At the heart of the event were the free homemade scones, freshly baked by yours truly (Emma) and served with generous dollops of jam and the finest Roddas clotted cream.

Guests were also treated to a range of hot and cold drinks, with a particular favourite emerging from the drinks menu: a decadent hot chocolate spiked with Cornish spiced rum. Perfect for the autumnal chill, this indulgent treat quickly became a go-to for many attendees.

On top of all this, our talented resident musician, Traka played some fabulous acoustic sets to enhance the vibe.

One of the things that made this event special was the sense of community it fostered. With no other bars or cafés in the village, locals were thrilled to have somewhere to gather and socialise within walking distance. It was a chance for neighbours to catch up and for new friendships to form, all while enjoying the spectacular views that Lydcott Glamping is known for.

Guests had the added bonus of being able to explore our glamping site, taking in the breathtaking sea views and getting an up-close look at our luxurious cabins. Our beautifully designed spaces are perfect for year-round getaways, and the event offered a taste of what glamping at Lydcott is all about.

Even as the afternoon air cooled, our newly designed space at Lydcott remained the ideal spot to relax. With heating and covered sides to keep everyone warm and comfortable, the space is set to be a popular fixture in the local social scene, especially as the colder months approach.

The first Sunday Social was just the beginning, and we truly hope that this unique event will soon become a beloved tradition in Widegates.
