A Glorious Cornish Firepit Feast at Lydcott Glamping

This weekend, under perfect skies and golden Cornish light, we hosted one of our most memorable evenings yet — the Cornish Firepit Feast at Lydcott Glamping. With the sun casting a warm glow over the coast and not a cloud in sight, our guests gathered for a night of incredible food, drinks, and fireside magic.

Cocktails & Conversations at Lydcott Social

The evening began at the Lydcott Social bar, where we served up some true taste-of-Cornwall creations. The star of the show? The Cornish Spritz – a refreshing blend of locally produced Cornish Knightor Rosé Vermouth, soda, and fresh fruit. Light, crisp, and utterly delicious, these went down an absolute storm.

Also making a splash were our Cornish Raspberry Gin & Tonics, crafted with the exquisite Cornish Black & Gold raspberry gin. Fruity, fragrant, and beautifully balanced, they proved the perfect pairing for the warm summer air and coastal views.

Fire-Cooked Feast by M2 Catering

As the sun dipped lower, the scent of wood smoke and sizzling ingredients began to fill the air. The incredible team from M2 Catering took to the open flames, creating a feast entirely cooked over fire using the finest local Cornish produce.

Guests were treated to a mouthwatering menu that celebrated bold flavours and rustic charm:

Starters & Sharing Dishes:

Homemade Focaccia with a trio of delicious dips: Sunflower Seed Romesco, Baba Ghanoush, and Hummus
Slow Roast Pork Shoulder “Souvlaki”, tender and smoky with just the right hint of char
Grilled Cornish Mackerel, fresh from the sea and kissed by the flames

Lemon, Feta & Oregano Roast New Potatoes
Baby Gem, Courgette & Walnut Salad
A stunning Allotment & Foraged Flower Salad – as beautiful as it was flavourful

Sweet Endings & Firelight Chats

No feast is complete without dessert, and this one ended on the highest of notes:

Miso & Honey BBQ Pineapple with Coconut Ice Cream and Brown Sugar Crumble – the perfect balance of sweet, savoury, and smoky
Followed by a final flourish: Greek Yoghurt with Fermented Strawberries and Gin Caviar – elegant, playful, and totally unique

As the plates were cleared, guests gathered around our glowing firepits to enjoy the balmy evening, share stories, and soak up the peaceful sounds of the countryside under a starlit sky.
