Celebrate in Style at Lydcott Glamping
A 50th Birthday Getaway to Remember
Last weekend, we were thrilled to host an unforgettable 50th birthday celebration here at Lydcott Glamping. It was a perfect example of how our glamping site can be transformed into a private paradise for any special occasion, and we’re excited to share the highlights with you!
A Seaside Haven for Family and Friends
Our seven luxury lodges, all with spectacular sea views and private cooking and bathroom facilities, were fully booked by a group of 25 people. Six families with kids plus a couple made themselves right at home, turning Lydcott into their own exclusive seaside retreat for three nights.
From the moment they arrived, the group had exclusive access to everything Lydcott Glamping has to offer. The heart of the fun was the Lydcott Social area — a perfect communal hub where everyone gathered to eat, play games, and socialise. During the day, board games and laughter filled the space, while in the evenings, the bar was open for a chance to sample some of the best Cornish drinks around.
A Taste of Cornwall (and a Few Surprises!)
The bar was a particular hit, serving up everything from local classics to our very own Lydcott M’Gwella Gin, Lydcott Cream Tea Gin, and the hugely popular Lydcott Spiced Rum — which was such a hit it sold out!
(Many guests couldn’t resist taking a bottle home – so we’ve now even made them available to buy online)
Adding to the lively atmosphere was the incredibly talented musician, Traka, who played live acoustic sets every evening. From mellow melodies to full-on singalong sessions (with adults and kids joining in!), he created a soundtrack to match the mood.
Adventures On and Off Site
Sarah, the birthday boy’s wife, planned a fantastic itinerary that made the most of our stunning location and kept everyone entertained:
Day 1: The group set off on foot from Lydcott Glamping, wandering through the woods and enjoying a scenic walk that took them to the local gem, The Copley Arms in Hessenford, for a well-deserved pint. They continued to Seaton Beach for a delicious lunch at Seaton Beach House before taxis whisked them back to Lydcott for more celebrations.
Day 2: It was a day out in the charming fishing town of Looe — crabbing with the kids, browsing the independent shops, and a refreshing drink at GG’s rooftop bar. From there, they walked the stunning coastal path to Millendreath Beach, where the grown-ups enjoyed drinks and nibbles at the beach bar while the kids played on the beach and later joined in for a cricket match on the green.
Each evening back at Lydcott Glamping, the group gathered around the firepits and at the bar, creating memories they’ll treasure for years.
Your Own Exclusive Cornish Escape Awaits
Seeing how much joy this celebration brought to everyone involved was a real highlight for us at Lydcott Glamping. We’re already looking forward to welcoming this group of friends again, and we’d love to help you create your own special occasion too.
Booking the entire site means you and your loved ones can enjoy total privacy and comfort — seven spacious lodges, the Lydcott Social for shared meals and games, a private bar with local drinks, and, of course, the unbeatable sea views and fresh Cornish air.
