Find Your Own Magic at Lydcott Glamping

More Than Just a Place to Sleep

It’s hard to believe that back in 2015, our award-winning site was just a field of brambles, but after years of hard grafting, we’ve built something we truly love sharing with our guests.

Whether you’re looking for a quiet corner to hide away or a base for a wild Cornish adventure, Lydcott is designed to be whatever you need it to be.

The Luxury of Getting Back to Basics

We believe that “eco-friendly” shouldn’t mean “basic.” Our seven lodges are built for real comfort, featuring cosy king-sized beds, personal kitchens, and ensuite bathrooms with proper showers – and lots of little touches designed to make it feel just like home.
Sea Views from Every Window: You don’t even have to get out of bed to see the water – the sea is literally framed in the window at your feet when you wake up.
The Best Night’s Sleep: We use low exterior lighting to protect our magnificent dark skies, making it the perfect spot for stargazing from your private deck.
A Taste of Cornwall: Your taps run with filtered Cornish spring water from our very own reinstated well.
Dog friendly family holidays

A True Family (and Dog!) Welcome

When you stay here, you’re welcomed like family. You might see Jonah (our son and chief turnaround assistant), Tarka (our son and resident musician) or Delphi (our daughter and resident “chicken whisperer”) helping out during their school holidays.
We’re also 100% dog-friendly. We have four labradoodles of our own who love meeting new friends, and your pooch will love Seaton Beach—it’s just five minutes away, expansive, and dog-friendly all year round. We even have roughly 40 chickens (all with names) wandering about, though who are extremely tame and can be a bit cheeky and try to visit you in your cabin!

Cornwall on Your Doorstep

  • If you can tear yourself away from your cosy lodge, the sea views and your private fire pit, there is so much to see nearby:
For Thrill-Seekers: We are only 5 minutes from Adrenalin Quarry, home to Europe’s biggest inflatable water park.
For Foodies: You have to try The Coddy Shack for the “undeniably best” fish and chips, or head to Looe (just 4 miles away) for the award-winning Sardine Factory.
For Walkers: We love the woodland walk between Seaton Beach (where you can get a great coffee, cake or bite to eat) and Hessenford—it’s a doggy paradise and ends at The Copley Arms for a well-earned post-walk pint.

(Take a look at loads of other ideas we’ve put together for planning your stay.)

Why Choose Lydcott?

We were recently named the Global Winner for Glamping Destination of the Year 2024, and the “Winner of Winners” at the Cornwall Tourism Awards, having won the Best Glamping Award for 4 years running. We are so proud of these awards, but what matters most to us is that every guest leaves feeling a bit more “reset” than when they arrived.

Our lodges are open all year round, from the awakening of spring to cosy winter escapes.

If you have any special requests or questions, just shout—we’re here to help you plan the perfect stay.
