What wildlife might you encounter?

Hedgehogs: Our specially built hedgehog glamping house is currently home to a rescued hedgehog, and our wildlife friendly landscaping gives these adorable nocturnal creatures a safe place to thrive.
Field mice & birds: Our wildlife cameras regularly capture glimpses of tiny field mice scurrying in the undergrowth, along with a variety of birds visiting our feeders.
Wildlife pond: Installed in 2023, our pond is now teeming with life, from dragonflies darting over the water to frogs and newts making themselves at home.

Enhance Your Stay with Nature Spotting & Stargazing

To help you make the most of your time in nature, we provide nature books in your lodge, and nature spotting kits that you can hire for your stay. Whether you’re a seasoned wildlife enthusiast or simply curious about the creatures around you, these kits will help you identify the wonders of the natural world.

Birdsong is a constant companion here at Lydcott Glamping, and we recommend downloading the Merlin Bird ID app to identify the different calls you hear. From the melodic warble of a blackbird to the chatter of sparrows and the mournful mewing sound of the buzzards, there’s always something to listen out for.

When night falls, the wonders of nature don’t stop. With minimal light pollution, our site offers breathtaking views of the night sky. Hire one of our stargazing kits to experience the cosmos in all its glory – from spotting constellations to catching a glimpse of the Milky Way, it’s a truly unforgettable experience.
