Glamping in Spring

Glamping in Spring
Nature springs to life

Glamping in Spring? It’s a common myth that glamping is an activity best saved for summer.

Definitely not true here at Lydcott Glamping.. in fact Spring is our absolute favourite time of the year – and we just wish we could share it with more guests!

Here’s why you should come glamping in Spring.

Nature starts to come alive

Spring definitely springs here at Lydcott Glamping, and because our gardens are planted with year round interest, there are always new signs of life around the site – but never more so than in Spring.

Our resident Swallows return to build their nest ready for hatching new young, and the hedgehogs come out of hibernation – and can be seen trotting around at night time. You can even hire one of our nature spotting kits for your stay, one of which includes night vision binoculars to help you experience our amazing nocturnal wildlife. (more opportunities to see things at night while the nights are longer too!)

Cornwall is fully open – but it’s not busy!

Those places that close during the winter months tends to start opening up throughout March, with everything being fully open and in full swing again in time for Easter.

When you book a stay with us, we’ll send you loads of ideas and recommendations of things to do – from eating out to days out, food and boozy experiences, and even things to do on a rainy day, so that you can book things in advance too. (Or have a look at our ‘explore‘ page)

And the extra bonus – Cornwall isn’t as crowded as it is in Summer – so you get to enjoy the place even more! This also means you can use Lydcott Glamping as a base and travel further afield to visit more places across Cornwall and Devon without having to endure the peak Summer holiday-maker traffic.

You will not be cold or wet – we promise!

We actually tend to find that sod’s law comes into play in Spring, and we have lovely sunny spells for weeks on end leading up to the school summer holidays. when it takes a turn for the worse!

Seriously though, we find ourselves outside tending to the outside areas in tshirts and shorts for weeks on end, feeling sad that guests are missing out when we’re not busy during the Spring months.

Agreed, the weather can be somewhat unpredictable here in Cornwall (even in summer!), so we can’t promise you’ll have wall to wall sunshine- but whatever the weather, you won’t suffer here at Lydcott Glamping.

Our cabins are all fully heated and well insulated so you definitely won’t be cold or uncomfortable. In fact, those guests who have had the pleasure of staying with us during the ‘out of peak season’ months always comment on how much they’ve loved being in their cabin, warm and cosy and listening to the occasional spring shower on the roof, and watching the sea views change  with the weather hour to hour through the cabin windows.

We even provide books and games to keep you entertained, and if there’s anything you need at all to make your stay even more comfortable, then your wish is our command.

We welcome new life to Lydcott Glamping!

Spring is the time of year when we welcome new additions to our beautiful flock of chickens here at Lydcott Glamping. We have around 40 chickens here, all of which have names – they’re very spoilt and very tame!

Our Spring guests love meeting and holding the chicks, and many of our flock have been named by our previous guests, who like to come back to Lydcott Glamping year on year to see them.

We really hope we’ve persuaded you to give Spring glamping a go.

Book your dates now and we hope to welcome you to our little slice of paradise soon.

Much love, Emma and Rich x
